Fortuna App is a basketball stats tracking application designed to help coaches, statisticians and fans record live game statistics for 5x5 and 3x3 basketball. This Privacy Policy describes how Fortuna App ("we," "our," or "us") handles information in connection with the Fortuna App mobile application and its companion website at basketball1933.click.
By using the app, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the app.
Your Rights and Choices
You remain in control of your data. The following options are available to you at any time:
- Clear app data. Clearing the app's data through your device settings resets the anonymous identifier described below and removes any locally stored game data and preferences.
- Revoke notification permission. You can disable push notifications at any time from your device's system settings. On Android 13 and later, you can also deny the notification permission when first requested.
- Uninstall the app. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data and unsubscribes the device from push notifications.
- Request deletion. You may contact us to request deletion of any data associated with your anonymous identifier.
Information We Collect
Automatically Collected Information
When you first launch the app, the following information is automatically generated or read from your device. This information is necessary for the app to function.
- Anonymous Identifier. The app generates a unique anonymous identifier when you first launch it. This identifier is stored on your device and does not contain your name, email address, or any other personal information. It persists until you clear the app's data or uninstall the app.
- Device Language and Region. The app reads your device's language and regional settings so that content can be displayed appropriately.
Push Notifications
The app sends push notifications using Google Firebase. When notifications are enabled, a unique push notification token is generated for your device so that notifications can be delivered to you. The app also subscribes to notification topics based on your device's language setting to tailor the content you receive.
On Android 13 and later, the app requests the notification permission at runtime. You can deny or revoke this permission at any time through your system settings. Google Firebase collects baseline device information — such as device model, operating system version, and app version — as part of its standard operation. Please refer to Google's privacy documentation at https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy for details.
Built-in Browser
The app includes a built-in browser used to display this Privacy Policy and the Support page directly within the app. The built-in browser does not collect any additional data beyond what is described in the Automatically Collected Information section above. Any websites loaded inside the built-in browser operate under their own privacy practices, and the built-in browser supports cookies (including third-party cookies) and local storage in the same way as a standard mobile browser. You can clear cookies and local storage by clearing the app's data through your device settings.
Local Game Data
The app stores your game records, player rosters, team information, box scores, lineup data and preferences locally on your device. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly share it yourself (for example, by exporting or sending statistics from within the app). You can remove all local data at any time by clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app.
Support and Bug Reports
The app's Support page allows you to send us a message or report an issue. When you choose to submit a support request, you may provide:
- Your name and email address
- A subject line and a description of your question or the issue you encountered
- An optional file attachment — you can take a photo or video using your device's camera, or choose an existing file (such as a screenshot, image, document, or PDF) through your device's file picker
This information is submitted only when you actively choose to send a support request. We use it solely to respond to your inquiry and resolve the issue you have reported. The app itself does not access your camera directly — photo and video capture is handled entirely by your device's built-in camera app.
Network Connections
The app uses network connectivity to deliver push notifications and load the Privacy Policy and Support pages in the built-in browser. Some connections may use unencrypted HTTP. No game data, statistics or personally identifiable information is transmitted over these connections.
Purpose of Data Collection
The limited information described above is collected and used for the following purposes:
- To operate, maintain, and ensure the basic functionality of the app
- To display content in the correct language for your device
- To deliver push notifications you have opted into
- To display the Privacy Policy and Support pages within the app
- To respond to support requests and bug reports that you choose to submit
Third-Party Services
The app relies on one third-party service:
- Google Firebase — used to deliver push notifications. Google Firebase receives your push notification token and collects baseline device information as part of its standard operation. Privacy information: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
The app does not use advertising networks, attribution services, or analytics providers. No advertising identifier is collected.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information to third parties. The only data shared outside of your device is the push notification token and baseline telemetry that Google Firebase requires to deliver notifications. Game statistics, rosters, and local game data are never transmitted to our servers.
Data Retention
The anonymous identifier, local game data, and app preferences remain on your device until you clear the app's data or uninstall the app. The push notification token is managed by Google Firebase and is refreshed periodically. Support messages you submit are retained only as long as needed to respond to your request.
Data Security
All network traffic required by Google Firebase is transmitted over encrypted connections. Locally stored game data is protected by the standard sandboxing provided by your device's operating system. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we use reasonable measures to protect the limited information the app handles.
Children's Privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Third-Party Links
The app and website may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of these external sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page along with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
